The Rules of Tajweed Course is designed for students who can already read the Quran but want to improve their recitation. Tajweed means “to make better,” and in Quranic recitation, it refers to pronouncing every letter correctly, from its proper point of articulation, with the correct characteristics.

Many students complete the Quran Reading Course but struggle with fluency and accuracy. This course provides focused training and practical exercises to help students recite the Quran beautifully and correctly. With repetition, practice, and the guidance of experienced teachers, learners gain confidence in their recitation.

Course Outline

• Makhaarij – points of articulation of Arabic letters
• Waqf – rules of stopping and pausing
• Vowels – short and long vowels (Harakaat & Madd)
• Qalqalah – echoing sound of specific letters
• Sun and Moon letters – rules of ل (Lam) in pronunciation
• Izhar-e-Halaqi, Ikhfa, Idgham-e-Yarmaloon, Iqlab
• Izhar-e-Shafawi, Ikhfa-e-Shafawi, Idgham-e-Shafawi
• Reading Practice: Surah Al-Fatiha and Juz 30
• Application: Recitation exercises with tajweed rules

Requirements

• Know how to read Arabic words correctly
• Be familiar with Harakaat, Sukoon, Madd, Tanween, and Shaddah
• Have completed the Quran Reading Course (or equivalent)
